Review: Hotel Transylvania the Series “The Wrapture/Becoming Klaus”

The wackiness on Hotel Transylvania the series continues! Mavis (Bryn McAuley), Hank (Gage Munroe), Wendy (Evyn Rosen), and Pedro (Joseph Motiki) wreak havoc on the hotel once again.

In “Wrapture,” Mavis accidentally throws out Pedro’s bandages. This prompts a scramble to replace them. It’s revealed that he’s been promoted to the head mummy of the hotel. Granted, he’s the only mummy. As you can guess, the wraps are a bit different than the original. Plus, the effect isn’t just how smooth they are. Rather, Pedro assumes a high-class attitude and diction.

In “Becoming Klaus,” cousin Klaus returns. He’s a creepy and strange vampire. It’s a sort of Freaky Friday scenario. Mavis even gets a haircut similar to Klaus. I like this one, but not nearly as much as “The Wrapture.” Joseph Motiki really shines in his official Pedro, whisking about having high tea and speaking like a funeral home director.

Unfortunately, neither episode is exactly anything new. Instead, it’s pretty familiar territory. At that, it’s rather predictable. That’s not to say, though, that it’s an unenjoyable pair of episodes. Hotel Transylvania the Series delivers a fun set of season entries.
