Review: Harvey Beaks “Nightclub Night”/”The Rebel”

Overview (Spoilers Below)

“Nightclub Night”

Harvey, Fee, Foo, Techno Bear, and Dade head to the club where Harvey has a special jam awaiting him. Fee and Foo end up getting jobs at the club, and it takes a while, but Harvey gets his jam on and busts a move on the dance floor.

Our Take

Overall, a rather solid episode of Harvey. The show exhibits its sweetness without going too far off the deep end and gives us a humorous punchline. Harvey is funny as hell. His adorableness shines through a rather subservient plot, and you couldn’t help but root for him in the end.

Score

8/10

”The Rebel”

Harvey finds one of his moms’ band shirts upstairs in the attic whilst cleaning and it parlays into Harvey being a rebel. To beef up his rebel M-O, Harvey decides to cause a bunch of trouble all over town. The funny this is, he really isn’t causing much trouble, rather just being a bit of a nuisance. It all comes to a head when Fee, Foo, and the parents set a trap that forces Harvey to return to his clean ways and shed the Rebel motif.

Our Take

Harvey is certainly a rebel without a cause, so the second half of this week’s episode is a winner in my book. I really like Harvey’s parents, they shed the stern motif that most parents have and know how to have fun. Marc Maron again shines as Randl, and Harvey trying to start trouble is maybe one of the funnier ideas this show has.
