Review: Harmonquest “Ad Quod Damnum”

Overview (Spoilers Below)

This week, we see our heroes tried before the law for crimes against the multi-verse! Turns out, that Gray Wraith is I think a bunny underneath and he’s kind of a bounty hunter that takes the team and puts them before a jury and a Zordon-like judge. Fortunately, Beor, Fondue, and Boneweevil get fantastic representation by way of special guest Jessica McKenna who has such a knowledge of the law that you would think there is NO WAY she’s a court-appointed attorney. Turns out, she wants to put the entire corrupt legal system on trial and successfully does so as everyone is set free. Until next time…

Our Take

I feel like every week I keep saying, “this guest star was the best one of the season”, and I’m going to say it again for Jessica McKenna who is not only super fun but an excellent storyteller for someone who hasn’t had MUCH experience in being a fantasy role player. Jessica single-handedly carries the entire episode, almost replacing Spencer Crittenden as the episode’s game master as she delivers epic monologue after epic monologue and closing with a song that goes straight to the heart. Dan notes her as the “Erin Brokovich” of the episode and that’s a good comparison, and I would challenge that the next season potentially sees her as a recurring cast member.
