Review: Gary And His Demons “Fleshler ’99”

This show is getting really, really good.

Overview

We don’t know how, but a demon named Fleshler is still alive despite the fact that Gary killed him years ago as revenge against the murder of his soon-to-be-fiance.

Our Take

All of a sudden…this show is getting pretty good. The rough looking animation actually works as a pretty good enhancement for the character designs for the awesome-looking demons that Gary has to fight, and in this case, we finally get to meet what appears to be a major antagonist for the show’s first season. NOW we have a reason to care about Gary’s fight against the demons, even if we really only got to meet Janice for a few minutes.

I was particularly impressed with the increased improvement in comedy and dramatic elements intertwining enough to keep the viewer interested and laughing at the same time. Moreso, the storytelling assets are REALLY starting to come through and I think before this one is over we’re gonna be in for a hell of a ride.
