REVIEW: FAMILY GUY “LIVIN’ ON A PRAYER”

Lois takes Stewie’s sick new best friend to the hospital—and learns that he has a treatable cancer. But his parents won’t allow treatment on religious grounds, and Lois is aghast (to put it mildly). Meanwhile, Peter has a religious experience of his own.

Spoilers Below

Stewie makes a new friend named Scottie and they both like playing Transformers (who doesn’t??) with a special appearance by He-Man(yea both me and Stewie thought that was weird too) by way of Brian. But, while Scottie is there  he becomes stricken with cancer, and as a result Lois brings the kid to the hospital for treatment. This pisses off Scott’s parents who think they can pray their son to a cure which of course we all know is fake. Obviously, a conflict emerges when Lois and her family believe that Scottie is being treated improperly instead of getting professional help.

Professional help comes in the way of Lois and Peter dressing up in an attempt to steal Scottie from his home so that he can be admitted to a hospital. Soon the kidnapping gets local TV press coverage and the Griffins’ rendezvous with the hospital gets interrupted.

Oh boy, was this a good one, and probably a good candidate for CNN or FOX news to piss about the rest of the week. The jokes were just on point tonight, with the best one coming from Kevin Smith getting wrecked by Stewie.  Alas, the cutaways were out of control funny, the Boy Who Cries Wolf, Dracula in San Fran, and a whole lot more put this week’s episode in a whole ‘nother class.
