Review: Daddy and the Big Boy “All Cop BBQ”

Time to slather up some sauce.

Overview (Spoilers Below)

The boys stumble onto a barbecue run by cops. There’s food, drinks, and a lie detector test that sees one of the other cops being put away. We come to find out that one of the other cops has a case file regarding Daddy’s criminal history and we may have an upcoming conflict on our hands.

Our Take

It’s about time Daddy and the Big Boy gets a bit saucy with its plot. The latest episode is both funny and somewhat nail-biting in its execution in that I had someone figuring out the whole scam that’s been going on next door for a couple of weeks now. It isn’t pretty, but “All Cop BBQ” gets the job done in getting the series back on track. I do think a longer run time would service this series well, perhaps giving us a B-plot with the investigator doing what he needs to do to track down the perps. Throw in the fact that this is the first time we’ve seen this cop that has also been building a case against the boys, and you got yourself a potential buddy cop comedy to complement the overall series. We’re not there yet, but there are signs of life for this franchise for further growth.
