Review: Camp WWE “The Truth Hurts”

Everybody hurts.

Overview (Spoilers Below)

After R-Truth wins the Camp WWE talent show with a musical act, he decides to hire Ric Flair as his manager and become a touring musician. At first, his lone single “What’s Up?” is a smash-hit, but when the record company asks for that second single, it isn’t long before R-Truth heads back to Camp WWE with his tail between his legs.

Meanwhile, Vince McMahon spends the entire episode avoiding an assassin that he hired 20 years ago to kill him. With the help of the Undertaker he does just that, but not before we get a Nikki Bella fart and a doobie session with Sergeant Slaughter.

Last, but not least, John Cena can’t believe for a second that Stone Cold is a liar and a cheater, but everyone else can.

Our Take

Wait..was that an Undertaker sighting? About time my favorite WWE Superstar gets a few lines in an episode as I thought we were going to see a whole lot more with him this season. That’s not the case, but it was refreshing to get an R-Truth centered story as I’m bored with cast at this juncture. I think aside from Vince McMahon, Ric Flair gets the most screen time, but I would’ve preferred anyone else to being R-Truth’s manager aside from the Sarge.

But, once again, Vince McMahon carries this week’s episode! He has to, because the writers don’t bother with the 200 other wrestlers on the WWE roster, so Vince has to carry this show each and every week on his back and it shows. Give it up to the WWE Chairman as he’s willing to take everything that’s thrown at him in terms of script whether it’s sex, drugs, and a whole lot more. You have to admire the man’s spirit, and then laugh hysterically at his talents, because they are truly on display each time he hits the screen.
