Spoilers Below

Bill really wants to be the one to make the arrest next time the guys have a bounty. The next one up is Steroid Lloyd a former pro-wrestler and now Barton’s on the case but they only have a few hours til Jeff has to be at his son’s birthday party. After getting a hot lead the guys put together a ruse in an attempt to arrest the suspect when he is least expecting. Unfortunately, Bill screws up the arrest and the former wrestler runs away.

Bill wonders if he should even be a bounty hunter, but the guys can’t worry about that now as they have a birthday party to go to. Larry, Bill, and Lisa are at the party too and while Larry is choking on some chili, Bill is choking out the party’s entertainment mistaking a party pleaser for their bounty. Because of the screw up, Bill decides to quit the force.

Jeff goes to his ex’s house to apologize to his son Colby and Larry heads to Bill to try and get him back on the team. Lloyd shows up to a salon, and Larry dons a disguise to cause the big crazy guy to be distracted while Jeff puts on the cuffs.  However, the guys decide to try and coerce Bill in coming back, so they put on a show where Jeff and Larry are tied up and Lloyd plays along as the criminal so that Bill can catch him and live the glory. Obviously, Lloyd goes nuts but Bill is able to make the arrest and lay claim as the hero. But, its cool cuz wrestling is fake.

If your going to be a show on CMT, your going to have all the ingredients in place to make sure you speak to the typical viewer of the country music network. Chili, pro wrestling, and trouble at the job are all important details on a stereotypical Southerner’s life and this episode delivers on all of them. Unfortunately, the episode really doesn’t deliver on laughs nor on a plot that had me all that interested in catching the bad guy. I also think despite the fact that this was a Bill Engvall episode, he was highly underutilized and of all of the Blue Collar guys his lines do NOT sound like him one bit. I’ve seen stand up by everyone on this show, and Bill seems the least like his act which I think is a mistake because he’s hysterical. We might be starting to see why this series is getting the grave yard shift after all.
