Review: Bounty Hunters ‘Barton’s Eleven’

Overview (Spoilers Below)

At first, the Blue Collar guys get all excited for a nice relaxing weekend, but Lisa comes up with a bounty that puts those plans on hold. Enter Jim and Jerry McNabb, two fat fuck brothers on motor bikes that probably haven’t even smelled a woman in forever. Problem is these McNabbs are popular, so when the guys are able to capture Jimmy and throw him in the slammer, the town revolts and tags the Barton store. This causes Jeff to get pissed and to call the fishing trip back on.

The crew heads up to Amber’s cabin with the guys heading to the lake to go fishing. Jeff is kind of seething still from the town’s reaction to their recent capture, but after catching a big fish he longs for the days where he can just fish. The guys have dinner and head home where Jeff comes up with a crazy idea…let’s ditch bounty hunting. Bill and Larry don’t to quit, but Jeff wants to quit. When they get back to Barton however, the town is on fire!

The guys pull up to their HQ which is completely ruined along with the rest of the town. Turns out the biker gang that the McNabbs belonged to have destroyed the city in response for Jim getting locked up. The entire town gets behind Jeff and devise a plan to take down the bikers once and for all, but he needs more than just his normal bounty hunting crew so he recruits a few more. The hunters smoke out the bikers’ hideout, and find Jerry in the stall who flips out and goes on a rampage. The other bikers leave so it’s just him getting round up by the Collar gang once and for all.

The entire town now loves the Bounty Hunters and even throws the crew a big ass parade.

Our Take

And after five months, we can finally put to rest Bounty Hunters. It’s almost symbolic that this episode would end on a parade thanking the town for its service as it will probably be the last time we see any of these characters. To be honest, this show was a rather surprising success in the areas of writing, animations, and dialogue, but the network was just no help. The series adds to a long list that MTV Networks has had a history of cancelling without really giving it a fair shake. I think if this one had gotten its fair share, we would be talking about a season two.
