Review: Bordertown – La Fiesta Noche Show (S1Ep11)

Spoilers Below

Ernesto and Placido learn that their favorite show will be filming in Mexifornia. They end up winning tickets through a radio station to be in the audience for a taping. Lo and behold, so does Bud and he steals the show.

During the taping, Bud is called up on stage after a vocal outbreak. Not knowing how to say “no” in Spanish, he gave in and had a breakdown of sorts on television. This caused viewer numbers to grow. The host saw this as an opportunity to invite him back for more antics and higher ratings. Bud responds by telling him that George Lopez and he took an oath three years ago to never make Mexicans laugh. I may not be Mexican, but both of them hold up very well to that oath. I don’t know the last time I’ve never not laughed this much at a show.

In the wake of becoming famous from his outbreak on the TV show, Bud decided it would be best for him to move to Mexico. With the now-famous Bud in Mexico, Pablo Barracuda decided that he wanted Bud to be the entertainment for his next party. His henchman were sent out to retrieve him so he could perform for Pablo and his guests. With Bud getting tired of the comedic route, he decided to switch things up on the show and try to become a hero. This backfired and caused him to end up back in Mexifornia.

In the 22 minutes this show was on, there were about 2-3 minutes of it that took place at the “La Fiesta Noche” show. Everything in this episode seemed to be loosely stitched together, much like the rest of the season. It’s like the writers just come up with a bunch of 2 minute skits and decide to throw them all together in order to attempt to create a plot. It’s not working at all.
