Normally, when a Graybles episode comes along, there is a group of micro stories that all had a common theme. “Graybles 1000+,” on the other hand, seem to be a bunch of random stories that are tied together by having Cuber find something. Whether it was a wand that Finn and Jake found, or a transmitting tooth that Cinnamon Bun hid in a land lard so he can escape Princess Bubblegum. Cuber was the star of “Graybles 1000+”, because he spent 90% of the time running from aliens who want him dead.

There are a lot of connections to previous episodes. Obviously, it’s the latest in the Graybles series. PB seems to be even more obsessed with spying on her subjects than she was going into “The Cooler.” She is also wearing the same T-Shirt as she did in “Jack the Brick.” However, this is where things get dicey. As Cuber is flying through the Ice Kingdom, a “beard-bat” chases him. This raises a big question. Did the crown take even more control over Simon? Or did someone else get the crown, and turned the wearer into an amalgam of this person, Ice King, and Evergreen? My money is on the latter, but that’s deserving a discussion for another time.

If you ask me, “Graybles 1000+” was another waste of an episode. Just like the other Graybles episodes, “Graybles 1000+” brought nothing new to the table. At least the other three Graybles episodes were enjoyable, this was boring. That’s unfortunate, because “Graybles 1000+” is another in a list of mediocre episodes from season six. This is disturbing, because the prior seasons were great. In fact, I would go as far as say Adventure Time lost a big part of its soul when Rebecca Sugar departed to start the superior show, Steven Universe. Hopefully, we can get a rebound, and Adventure Time comes back to form. The already slim pickings of new content for Cartoon Network would get a much needed boost.
