Review:  Adam Ruins Everything “Give Me Liberty or Give Me Truth”

Truth or dare!

Overview (Spoilers Below)

You USA-loving kids are in for a real treat this week, as the third season of Adam Ruins Everything kicks off with an episode that helps not only dispel some of the myths for the American revolution, including some of the more ridiculous tall tales like George Washington being a good guy and Paul Revere’s contributions being rather contrite. That said, this week’s episode did an excellent take on the importance of black culture’s history in not only the Revolutionary War but the French Revolution as well that should be talked about more.

Our Take

Some of the dialogue at the beginning of the premiere episode involving George Washington was getting a bit ham-handed, and quite frankly, I much preferred whenever narrators Chris Parnell and Adam Conover would go at it. Furthermore, a lot of the mouth animations appeared not timed correctly, and as such, took away a LOT from the show. Fortunately, as the episode went on, production quality got a lot better and Adam basically took over and helped deliver a fun-filled learning adventure that should get plenty of people from the Southern United States plenty pissed off.
