Read an excerpt from the script for ‘Bart’s New Friend’ written by Judd Apatow

Judd's kinda the best.
Judd’s kinda the best.

On last night’s episode of The Simpsons, Homer was hypnotized at the circus and made to believe he’s a young boy again, so Bart took advantage of the situation and enlisted him as his new best friend and partner in crime.

The Simpsons writers had a bit of fun in taking Judd Apatow’s original take on the episode, tearing it apart, putting it back together, but still having fun at Judd’s expense. Obvious homages to some of Judd’s biggest box-office hits like 40-Year Old Virgin, Superbad, and more are mentioned which clearly shows that Judd did just fine sitting on the sidelines whilst is original Simpsons spec turned 25.
