“Random Acts Of Flyness” And Their Stop-Motion Short About “The Sexual Proclivities of the Black Community”

Random indeed.

HBO’s newest sketch series, Random Acts of Flyness, is a new sketch comedy series from Terence Nance and as you can see from the teaser trailer and the first episode posted below he definitely plans to use animation as a tool for a litany of his random acts.  In the premiere episode, we’re introduced to a talk show on sex in the black community that uses stop-motion animation to regale us about “The Sexual Proclivities of the Black Community”.

This isn’t the first time that Terence has used animation in a work of his, in 2012 he produced the Gotham Independence Award Winner An Oversimplification of Her Beauty which followed Terrence’s character after he is stood up on a date with a woman and as a result an animation tour de force about emotions and the relativity of time proceeds to be displayed.

Check out the first episode of Random Acts of Flyness below, and be sure to check out new episodes Midnight ET/PT only on HBO. The short I mentioned earlier can be seen starting at the 18-minute time block.
