Puppet News Roundup: Howard Stern ; Avenue Q

Puppets invade NYC!

Hey, remember when we told you Avenue Q was going to end next month? Welp, good news. The producers have decided to EXTEND the Broadway show well into May, so if you’re wanting to check out the show now I suggest you get your tickets here.

Featuring a Tony-winning score by Robert Lopez and Jeff Marx and a Tony-winning book by Jeff Whitty, Avenue Q follows Princeton, a recent college grad who arrives in New York with a B.A. in English and not much else. Living alongside a crew of neighbors including monsters, a Japanese immigrant, a closeted Republican, and Gary Coleman, he sets off to find his ever-elusive purpose, which doesn’t get any easier in adulthood.

Avenue Q may not be the only puppet act in Manhattan. That’s because The Howard Stern Show is teasing a whole bunch of puppet additions to Howard’s collection which I know already includes Gary but my memory escapes me if they’ve made puppets for Howard and Fred just yet. In any case, Howard revealed NEW staff puppets in the form of JD Harmeyer and Ronnie “the Limo Driver” Mund. You can check out the big reveal below, and Howard has noted that more will be revealed on this Monday’s show exclusively on Sirius XM.
