Prime Video: Batman: Caped Crusaded Two Season Order ; Michael B. Jordan-Led Anime Projects In The Works

Prime Video is the hero we need right now, and to prove it, the Amazon-owned streamer has ordered two seasons of Batman: Caped Crusaderthe new adult animated series featuring Bruce Timm, Matt Reeves and JJ Abrams as its producers. Already having a good deal of success this week coming off of Undone’s recent WGA win for best animated series, Prime Video saves a project that was originally developed for HBO MAX before being cut and is now in it’s way to Prime Video.

It was said to be a reimagining of the Caped Crusader that returns to the character’s film noir roots and focus on the character’s earlier years of fighting crime and also before he formed an alliance with Commissioner James Gordon and the GCPD. Ed Brubaker is on the writing team and the first season will feature ten episodes. This along with a recent report that a Batman Beyond animated movie is in development means good things for Batman are coming down multiple pikes.

This news comes as Deadline is exclusively reporting that Michael B. Jordan is getting ready to launch a Creed-verse that will potentially feature an anime series and even full-length animated feature-length films with Prime Video getting the first nod at everything inspired by the live-action film franchise that is approaching $500 million in revenue across three films. Michael isn’t a stranger to adult animation, having produced Rooster Teeth’s Gen: Lock and is a noted die-hard fan of anime even giving BBC 1 radio a good starting five of his favorite for new anime fans to get into.

Boxing is huge in anime but doesn’t have much in terms of US-produced adult animation geared towards the combat sport. Michael B. Jordan could be a prime candidate to turn that notion around and get us some heavy-hitters.
