Phineas and Ferb gets ready to bid farewell on Disney XD this Summer

Final seasons seem to be the theme over the last year or so. The Boondocks, Metalocalypse, Black Dynamite, and soon Aqua Teen are all saying goodbye over on Adult Swim and for Disney XD it looks like we are going to say good bye to one of the most popular animated franchises of all time…Phineas and Ferb.

First up, a 73 hour long Phineas and Ferb marathon commences on June 9th @ 9 pm ET/PT which will end on June 12th @ 9 pm giving way to an hour-long special called ‘The Last Day of Summer’. The special is said to be the ”Ultimate Story Capper” and will simulcast on both Disney Channel and Disney XD.

In the fall, we’re getting an hour-long The O.W.C.A. Files special that will feature Perry the Platypus and his fellow animal agents.

All of this Phineas and Ferb will end, but fans of the producers shouldn’t worry because they are already working on another show called Mikey Murphy’s Law, and according to The Hollywood Reporter centers on the fictional great-great-great-great grandson of the Murphy’s Law namesake and is set for a 2017 premiere. Povenmire and Marsh are the creators and executive producers and will be joined by several Phineas and Ferb colleagues, including producer and director Robert F. Hughes, story editor Scott Peterson and staff writers Joshua Pruett, Dani Vetere and Martin Olsonit.

So yea, get ready for a loooooong good bye, one that starts this June and pretty much ends in the fall with the Agent P. special. Ever since the series made the move to Disney XD, you could tell there was a VAST improvement over the episodes that aired on Disney featuring specials crossed with popular properties like Star Wars and Marvel. The show had a good run, but all good things must come to an end.
