Paramount Television could be getting into Animated Television with latest moves.

Not sure how I feel about this one, but come on! IT’S BEBE STEVENS!

According to Deadline.com, the one-time voice of South Park’s Bebe Stevens aka Jennifer Howell, has just been tapped to lead the comedy department of Paramount’s latest attempt at trying to re-establish itself as a television production studio. Despite the fact that she was a supervising producer on South Park for a number of years (and voice of ‘Bebe’), I can’t help but wonder what kind of content she’s going to bring to the table due to the fact that her recent track record has been awful to say the least.

Her most recent gig was at 20th Century FOX where she oversaw the development of such animated shows as Bob’s Burgers, Murder Police, Napoleon Dynamite and Allen Gregory. Aside from Bob’s which just got its fifth season pickup on FOX, the rest of the shows that she has been a part of in bringing to the small screen have all been cancelled. This leads me to question her ability to scout and procure quality content.

Deadline has a bit more to say about the role in which Jen Howell is taking on: The plan for the next five years is to build Paramount TV into a creative studio financing and developing television for all platforms, from digital episodic content to primetime series, by mining existing Paramount properties as well as new ideas from established and emerging talent, broadly seeking partners and distribution.

So, it’s very likely that Paramount could be looking to bring on some new animated prime-time comedies (which is good), but let’s make sure we get some good ones that stay on, deal?
