Our Nomination For “Deadpool” Animation Director Is…

And he doesn’t have much say in the matter.

With the news yesterday that FXX was picking up an animated series adaptation of Deadpool for 10 episodes that will see the adult animated action/comedy premiere in 2018, we couldn’t help but notice that there wasn’t an animation production company or director listed. Fortunately for show creators and brothers Donald and Stephen Glover, we decided to step in and recommend one for them…

Ladies and Gentlemen…I give you the one and only LeSean Thomas.

Wanna see a resume? How ’bout supervising director on Black Dynamite and both character designer AND co-director on the first two seasons of The Boondocks. Need a little more? He’s also done a bunch of comic-to-animated series adaptations with the likes of Axe Cop, The Batman, and Green Lantern. The Bronx-born producer is fluent in the arts of Anime and Aeni much in the same way as Beatrix Kiddo was with the Samurai Sword and Kung-fu in the Kill Bill movies, making him an ideal asset to have when producing crazy fight scenes…perfect for Deadpool.

Now I know what you’re thinking…does LeSean Thomas even want the job? I’m not sure, I didn’t even bother to ask. Quite frankly, it’s out of his hands and not his decision to make, it’s mine and mine alone. Oh yes, LeSean, YOU will do it and YOU’LL LIKE EVERY MINUTE!

Yep…that’s right. LeSean Thomas should be the director for Deadpool and quite frankly it’s not up to him whether or not he would agree to do it because of “too much work” or whatever the fuck excuse I’m gonna be told. He’d thank us later in his multiple Creative Emmys speeches I can guarantee you that.

LeSean Thomas for Supervising Director of Deadpool ’18, please.
