Not Disney-FOX Developing An Animated Comedy Western Called “Saloon”
FOX Entertainment is developing a new animated series for it’s broadcast network called Saloon that would be a Western coming from producers Elliott Kalan and Jenny Jaffe. According to Variety, it is set in the frontier outpost of Timmy’s Town. Kevin (a woman) runs the local saloon, McClanahan’s, where she functions as the townspeople’s unofficial leader/therapist/protector. At the other side of Timmy’s Town is do-gooder Sheriff Stacey Leslie (a man) whose only mission is to close Kevin’s “sinful” bar and run her out of town for good.
Should the series be picked up to series, the recently acquired FOX studio Bento Box (Bob’s Burgers ) would produce the series.
Our Take
I love the diversification that FOX is giving its Animation Domination lineup. The Great North is in Alaska, Bless the Harts is a Southern-take, and now a Western? Here’s hoping FOX is planning to build out it’s Animation Domination lineup for those long summer months where I’m waiting for a return of The Simpsons.
Hi Ashley, thank you so much for reading and we love the feedback. Note that on that day we had 14th posts go up and only ten posts show on the front page, so it's possible the preview had already been archived by the time you got to it. One recommendation would be to add our RSS feed to your favorite news aggregator service like Feedly, this way you get all of the latest posts!
