News Bits: “The Simpsons” and “Family Guy” Teases For Rest Of Season

Family Guy and The Simpsons aren’t due to return until March 11th, but that doesn’t mean we don’t have news now about how each show plans to finish the season.

First up, TVLine recently spoke with the recently re-upped Rich Appel about the upcoming midseason premiere of Family Guy, and the producer noted that in it, Ian McKellen will be guest-starring as Stewie’s therapist and one of the items of discussion that will be brought up is Stewie’s bisexuality. Evidently, the entire episode is just going to be Stewie and his therapist and will be presented with limited commercial interruption.

Next, The Simpsons will welcome Goodfellas actors Ray Liotta and Debi Mazar in an upcoming episode as relatives of Springfield’s favorite bartender, Moe. Ray is slated to guest star as “Morty” while Debi will guest as “Minnie”, both of whom will be part of a “Moe-centric” episode slated to premiere sometime in April on FOX according to Entertainment Weekly.

Last, but not least, while director David Silverman has been sharing some interesting behind-the-scenes factoids about The Simpsons, Slashfilm had a chance to talk to show executive producer Al Jean who not only teases of an episode written by David, but also that Jon Lovitz will be coming soon and we’re getting a parody of The Amazing Race.

Suffice to say, we’ve got a LOT to look forward to in the coming months ahead!
