Nature Rays and Camp Swings: A Rooster Teeth Animation Retrospective Part 1

2D or not 2D?

On April 1st of this year, 2018, Rooster Teeth will be celebrating its 15th anniversary since the creation of their first hit series, Red Vs. Blue. Over their decade and a half ongoing production, the company has branched out in many areas, from furthering their Machinima skills, making live action feature films, video games, game shows, a TON of merch, and of course, animation, both 2D and 3D. To commemorate this upcoming milestone and the release of their newest series, Nomad of Nowhere, I figured it would be an appropriate time to look back on their previous efforts in this section of the medium before the dawning and takeoff of their newest show.

Rooster Teeth Animated Adventures (2011-Present)

Not a whole lot to say about this first entry, other than the obvious. Selected audio clips from various podcasts given visuals by longtime RT animator Jordon Cwierz. Initially, Jordan did each short himself and established their signature art style, though recently they’ve been delegated to other hired animators in the company while Jordan directs. At 2-3 minutes each, it can be easy to lose track of time while binge watching it.
