More Analysis: Fox Broadcasting To Stay In Original Content Business Post Buy

What’s gonna happen?

Remember when we were concerned about the futures of Bob’s Burgers, The Simpsons, and Family Guy as per this morning’s Disney buy of 20th FOX? Well, there are updates and it should satiate some concerns.

For starters, Deadline is reporting that FOX Broadcasting plans to continue to stay in the content business and that long-term license deals with Bob’s Burgers, The Simpsons, and Family Guy should see those shows stick around on FOX networks for a couple of years and that the 20th Century brand could stay and act as a vanity label for Disney to continue to release Rated-R movies and adult animation and that the FOX lot will stick around for the next seven years.

Even more silly news…21st Century FOX intends to open up a studio for original content, though I surmise it’s to be akin to ESPN studios where they produce original long-form news pieces, news magazines, etc. Regardless, FOX Broadcasting could agree to be a home for its Sunday Night animation lineup for years to come, FX head John Landgraf appears to be fine with the changes, perhaps Disney will be cool.

But, it’s still early.
