Mark Hamill (Luke Skywalker) And Dan Harmon (Probably Wears Skywalker PJ’s) Take Turns Slamming Adult Swim

Dude, Adult Swim’s getting spanked this week on numerous sides this week.

Let’s kick this off with Luke Skywalker himself, yes, Mark Hamill, calling Adult Swim a bunch of idiots for canceling Metalocalypse. Most of Planet Earth would agree with the Last Jedi, but this is yet another major name that has spoken out against Adult Swim’s programming department which also includes the likes of David Cross, H. Jon Benjamin, and Brett Gelman.

We just interviewed Metalocalypse creator Brendon Small who pretty much indicated that Dethklok isn’t coming back, and probably neither is Home Movies.

I wasn’t going to give any credibility to the horseshit Adult Swim bumper that aired last week after an all-new episode of Rick and Morty. I thought nothing of it, quite frankly. But of course, the shit rags started jumping on a “Rick and Morty” vs “Game of Thrones” bandwagon and click bait articles from the likes of the Vulture attempting to fan the flames to try and get two huge fanbases to potentially engage in a spat.

Fortunately, the producers of Rick and Morty were quick to note that they had nothing to do with this and that this was probably the work of the Adult Swim marketing team. Dan Harmon posted a big long statement that rightfully outed the responsible parties for the silly controversy, but I have yet to see a retraction from Vulture or any of the other terrible publications trying to cover Adult Swim. Clearly, there are editors not doing their jobs but don’t worry, the marketing/PR departments will go to all of them first when the next season of Rick and Morty kicks off.

This is the same honky horseshit that was happening earlier this year when most of the online press were blowing out of proportion a rumored feud between the producers of Rick and Morty which was, in turn, convinced fans to point fingers as the cause for delays to the start of the third season that wasn’t really that bad, to begin with. The result was Justin having to fly in from Germany and, together with Dan, pretty much do a de facto press conference which put to rest any of those rumors and instead announced the premiere date of the show’s third season.

Yes, we have a nutso President screaming fake news. But TRUE fake news, is click bait that isn’t fact-checked. That falls on the publishers…and the advertisers are well aware.

Rick and Morty returns with new episodes on September 10th on Adult Swim.
