John Cho gives update for Harold and Kumar animated series for Adult Swim

Its a rather short update, but it might be an important one….

Anyone that reads articles about Upfronts you should know one thing….nothing is set in stone!  Especially when it comes to new shows and that certainly looks to be the case with the Harold and Kumar animated series that was announced at the 2012 Adult Swim Upfront. John Cho has been doing a bunch of press lately for the  new Star Trek movie that I won’t be seeing and of course this means he gets to do a bunch of interviews. One of the interviews John did was posted over on Collider.com where he gave an update on the Harold and Kumar series and from the sounds of it its a ways off:

Right now there’s a deal that was struck for an animated show on Adult Swim and to my knowledge they’re writing episode one at the moment. They have written the pilot and are writing episode one so as soon as I get the details you literally will be the first to know.

If we aren’t even started on episode one folks, then that means this thing ain’t happening this year and probably means not for a while. As a matter of fact I bet there is a new Star Trek movie that gets put together faster than this show.
