Jim Henson Co. announces ‘Oscar’s Hotel’

Set to steam on Vimeo September 15, 2015 is a series called Oscar’s Hotel. According to The Hollywood Reporter:

Oscar’s Hotel tells the story of a hotel owner who leaves his nephew Oliver (Kendall) in charge of a group of eccentric guests, including Repossession Fish (voiced by Stewart and Molina) and Octochef (Mamrie Hart).

The fantasy series, an adaptation of YouTube creator P.J. Liguori’s short film Oscar’s Hotel, stars YouTuber Chris Kendall and features an ensemble cast that includes digital talent Grace Helbig,Mamrie Hart, Hannah Hart and Anna Akana. Lending their voices for the project are Patrick Stewart, Alfred Molina, Elliott Gould and Felix Kjellberg, the YouTuber known as PewDiePie. 

To bring these characters to life, New Form Digital and Vimeo have brought on producing partner Jim Henson Co., which will use puppets, costume pieces and prosthetics from Jim Henson’s Creature Shop.

Jim Henson Co. has really been on a roll as of late. The Muppets on ABC looks fantastic, and Happytime Murders was recently resurrected. It’s good to see the company work with not just in TV, but also feature and independent film. Be sure to check in as we will surely have the review.
