According to various sources, but we’ll source Deadline for this lead, actor James Woods is evidently retiring from the entertainment business at the age of 70 as per his real estate agent Allen Gammons. Woods is reportedly selling a bunch of real estate properties after the recent passings of his parents and is looking to focus on antiquing, playing poker, and photography.

As you may imagine, this could have implications on the infamous “James Woods” character that currently recurs on Family Guy with quite a lot of fanfare having appeared in about eight episodes, but also having the school and local forests of Quahog named after James Woods.

With this announcement, and the recent passings of Adam West and Carrie Fisher, Family Guy is losing quite a few characters, but it sounds like the producers are ramping up to replace them over the next couple of seasons.

Actually, during the NYCC2017 panel yesterday, the producers of Family Guy (along with a Skyped-in Seth MacFarlane) showed off an upcoming episode featuring both Adam and Carrie, so you know there aren’t many of those episodes left in the tank, so the replacements should be happening soon.

In the meantime, Family Guy is all-new this Sunday Night @ 9 pm ET/PT only on FOX, check your local listings.
