Is Ron Funches Teasing An Upcoming “Family Guy” Guest Appearance?

It’s 50/50 right now, but this story will still warm your heart.

When Ron isn’t putting Conan in headlocks, he’s actually one of the busier comedian/actors around. For my money, his Comedy Central stand up Giggle Fit is the best stand-up special of 2019 so far and he’s only getting better as an actor/voice actor. I first became aware of Ron when we covered Crash & Bernstein and since then Ron has had vocal guest spots in such franchises as We Bare Bears, BoJack Horseman, and Bob’s Burgers. But could Ron be teasing a guest spot in an upcoming episode of Family Guy?

It’s too soon to tell right now, but Ron recently Tweeted that he took his kid out of school to celebrate his 16th birthday with a chance to check out a table read and he even got to sketch up a killer looking Stewie! It’s possible Ron was just there as a fan, but it’s possible we might see Ron Funches in an upcoming episode of Family Guy which would be killer. Furthermore, regardless of how good Ron is as an actor it looks like he’s enjoying his favorite role as a super fun dad!

In the meantime, we have plenty of Family Guy on the way including a new episode airing this Sunday night @ 9 pm ET/PT, only on FOX. The episode is entitled “No Giggity, No Doubt” and it guest stars Mandy Moore as “Courtney”. When the guys volunteer to chaperone the high school prom, Quagmire hits it off with Courtney (guest voice Mandy Moore) only to discover that she is his daughter. To his and the gang’s surprise, Quagmire makes a serious effort to embrace parenting Courtney, joining Peter and Meg on an ill-fated father-daughter camping trip.

Now in its 16th season, FAMILY GUY continues to entertain its die-hard fan base with razor-sharp humor, spot-on parodies, spectacular animation and orchestra-backed original music. Since its debut in 1999, the series has reached cult status among fans, and its breakout star, a talking baby, has become one of the greatest TV characters of all time. FAMILY GUY has racked up numerous awards, including an Emmy Award nomination for Outstanding Comedy Series, only the second animated series in television history to be honored with such a distinction. Cast member Alex Borstein (voice of “Lois Griffin”) recently won the 2018 Emmy Award for Outstanding Character Voice-Over Performance. Series creator and lead voice actor Seth MacFarlane (voice of “Brian Griffin,” “Peter Griffin” and “Stewie Griffin”) also was nominated in the category. He won the 2017 and 2016 Emmy Award in the category, and was nominated from 2013 to 2015. Guest voices this season include Sir Patrick Stewart, Mandy Moore, Sarah Paulson, Bryan Cranston, Niecy Nash, Kyrie Irving, Johnny Weir, Tara Lipinski and Sam Elliot.

Family Guy is an American animated sitcom created by Seth MacFarlane for the Fox Broadcasting Company. The series centers on the Griffins, a family consisting of parents Peter and Lois; their children, Meg, Chris, and Stewie; and their anthropomorphic pet dog, Brian. The show is set in the fictional city of Quahog, Rhode Island, and exhibits much of its humor in the form of metafictional cutaway gags that often lampoon American culture.
