Indie Watch: Randall Kaplan Debuts Trailer For “BoxHead”

Recent release CANVAS has left a bad taste in my mouth for horror adult animation so hopefully Richard Kaplan’s new one can do the trick. Check out the new trailer for his new hand-drawn film and then click the link to donate and show Richard you want to see this thing get finished.

According to Richard, ‘Boxhead’ is a work in progress hand drawn animated horror feature film about loneliness, regret and dreams.

Synopsis:

Al is an aging, alcoholic recluse. His dreams of being a successful writer have long since past him by. Alienated, he drinks himself into oblivion. And somewhere -beneath the surface- a strange creature watches… …waiting for the right moment. One night, Al wakes up in his apartment to the buzzing of flies. Thousands of flies. He follows the swarm down the stairs and outside. There, on the pavement, is the dead body of man with a gaping hole where his face should be. Al finds out that the dead man was the father of a local young girl named Sara from the neighborhood whom he has seen before. For some inexplicable reason he feels responsible for the gruesome death. He tells Sara that he is a detective and he’ll find out what happened to her father. A detective, just like one out of his unfinished novels. He begins searching for answers. Meanwhile the strange creature stalks the streets, entering into different people’s lives, revealing their deepest fears and regrets…their loneliness…and feeding off of it, leaving a trail of corpses behind in its wake. Al’s own search for answers leads him down a labyrinth of past and present fantasies and nightmares, and ultimately to the truth about himself.
