HAYLEY ATWELL CAST AS THE VOICE OF LARA CROFT IN NETFLIX’S UPCOMING TOMB RAIDER ANIME SERIES

Netflix and Legendary Television announce Hayley Atwell (Captain America, Mission Impossible 7) as the voice of iconic adventurer Lara Croft in the upcoming anime series based on Square Enix’s Tomb Raider global franchise.

Lara Croft, one of the video game world’s most iconic adventurers, makes her anime debut in an all new series. Picking up after the events of the highly successful Tomb Raider video-game reboot trilogy, the animated series will chart the globetrotting heroine’s latest, greatest adventure. Twenty-five years after her first game appeared, Lara continues to explore new territory.

Hayley Atwell is a Golden Globe and Olivier Award-nominated British actress who will next star opposite Tom Cruise as the female lead of MISSION: IMPOSSIBLE 7. Her other film credits include Julian Jarrold’s BRIDESHEAD REVISITED (2008) and THE DUCHESS (2008), for which she was nominated for Best Supporting Actress at the 2008 British Independent Film Awards. She also starred in Disney’s CHRISTOPHER ROBIN (2018) and in BLINDED BY THE LIGHT (2019), directed by Gurinder Chadha. In 2011, Hayley was cast opposite Chris Evans in Marvel universe blockbuster CAPTAIN AMERICA: THE FIRST AVENGER. Her character Peggy Carter was given her own show, AGENT CARTER in 2015, the first-ever Marvel spin-off to be fronted by a woman. Hayley has reprised this role in CAPTAIN AMERICA: THE WINTER SOLDIER (2014), AVENGERS: AGE OF ULTRON (2015), ANT-MAN (2015) and AVENGERS: ENDGAME (2019). She will next be seen as Peggy Carter in Marvel’s animated anthology series WHAT IF?

The series is coming from Tasha Huo (The Witcher: Blood Origin, Red Sonja), who will write and executive produce; dj2 Entertainment Founder and CEO Dmitri M. Johnson (Sonic the Hedgehog, Life is Strange), Howard Bliss and Stephan Bugaj; and Jacob Robinson, under his company Tractor Pants.
