FXX Wants To Have It’s “Cake” And Eat It Too

The charge to bring on new original adult animated series is still ongoing for FXX and with the recent good news that Archer has been renewed for an eleventh season, the network wants to hurry up and build around it. Enter in, Cake. A new series not unlike Liquid Television and TripTank where the network plans to curate short-form animation and live-action for the purposes of potentially picking up for full series. With the network getting off-cycle broadcast rights to The Simpsons, Family Guy, and Bob’s Burgers, it could be a perfect time for the ill-fitting network to truly find a more unique niche in it’s quest for cable TV viewership.
