Funimation News For 2019: “My Hero Academia” ; Schedule Changes ; Movies

Let’s do this…

There’s a lot going on with Funimation for 2019 which follows a year which saw a lot of change for the leading English dub anime streaming service in the world. In the last few months, Funimation had went through a nasty divorce with Crunchyroll and subsequently VRV, and the service has just as many terrible anime shows as they do have in sheer genius. We also had a year where Funimation decided not to air the premiere English dub episode of My Hero Academia Season Three, all the while shepherding a number of feature films that appear to be continuing into the next year, which is a good thing, followed by the announcement of being able to download anime and bring it with you in no-internet areas.

Yes, 2019 appears to be another busy year for Funimation. Speaking of My Hero Academia, Funimation has confirmed that Season Four is coming October 2019 where it’s expected that the service will do a similar release schedule as seasons’ past where the English dub and sub will release for the first couple of weeks simultaneously. No additional information has been released with the exception of some key art that was Tweeted out yesterday. Regarding other scheduling news from Funimation, the streaming service has announced some schedule shifts for the upcoming holiday season.

For feature films, Funimation has recently announced the English dub adaptation of Anemone: Eureka Seven Hi-Evolution coming to theaters sometime in 2019. We know less about this right now, but it’s coming and it joins rival anime producer Aniplex of America’s announcement of Fate/stay night: Heaven’s Feel II. lost butterfly which is also coming next year.

All this in more on the way for 2019 Funimation. We’ll be here to cover it along the way.
