Funimation Dates English Dubbed Adaptation For “The Stranger By The Shore”

Funimation has announced a July 10th stream date for the premiere of The Stranger By The Shore. According to co-producers Funimation, the film follows young novelist Shun Hashimoto who was cut off from his family after coming out; and Mio Chibana, an orphaned high schooler who loves the ocean. But as the two grow closer, Mio reveals that he has to leave Okinawa and head to mainland Japan. Three years pass—can love persevere?

The film will be animated by Studio Hibari and directed by Akiyo Ohashi. Kii, who had previously been an animator on Sing A Bit Of Harmony, will be supervising the film and is in charge of the character designs.
