Freeform’s 31 Nights Of Halloween Adds “Family Guy”

In news that might be pertinent to this Virginia School Board, Freefrom has announced it’s yearly 31 nights of Halloween event where the network will feature a litany of programming from both The Simpsons, and for the first time, Family Guy. Family Guy departs the WarnerMedia owned networks starting September 24th with this month as a whole becoming an exodus of sorts for 20th Animation programming.

American Dad celebrates it’s season finale (although we hear that a special holiday episode is coming later this year) on September 13th, followed closely by Family Guy’s final day on the TBS network on September 24th. TBS has already begun preparing for this having recently removed both Rick and Morty, Final Space, and Tuca & Bertie from both it’s lineup and it’s website/app, all of which were part of a once burgeoning animation lineup for the network. The first dozen and a half episodes of American Dad season 16 are slated to be removed by Thanksgiving making way for a permanent Hulu landing spot.

Speaking of Hulu, I was told recently by an inside source that series like Dream Corp LLC, Momma Named Me Sheriff/Mr. Pickles, and a couple of others are part of a streaming deal with WarnerMedia prior to the HBO MAX/AT&T merger and none can continue production until that expires, effectively putting those franchises on an extended hiatus. When that contract expires, expect all those series to be sent to HBO MAX whilst HBO MAX original Close Enough heads to TBS sometime in October of 2021.
