FOX Announces Return Of Animation Domination And Reveals Fall 2019 Lineup

Any viewers watching FOX’s animated finales last night saw promos touting the return of the network’s Animation Domination lineup slated to premiere this Fall 2019. For those that don’t recall, FOX coined the Animation Domination name for their animation only Sunday Night line ups and did so for a number of years until the last couple or so that saw more live-action fare show up as part of the lineup. Other than Brooklyn 99 which subsequently moved to NBC, every Sunday Night live-action series for FOX has failed over the years which usually lead the network to air a bunch of rerun episodes of stalwarts like Bob’s Burgers, The Simpsons, and Family Guy. The last few months the network has been on a tear ordering additional animated series Bless the Harts, The Great North, and Duncanville. Bless the Harts will be FOX’s newest series that will premiere and it will do so by replacing Bob’s Burgers in the 830 pm ET slot which then has a domino effect as you’ll see in these listings. No premiere dates just yet, just the time slots.

Last night FOX had been teasing Bless the Harts with clips that they haven’t made available yet, but when they do, we’ll get ’em for ya. Duncanville and The Great North are both coming Mid-season 2019/2020.

SUNDAY

8-8:30 PM — The Simpsons

Making history yet again, THE SIMPSONS has been renewed for its 31st and 32nd seasons on FOX, by which time, the series will have produced 713 episodes. THE SIMPSONS is a Gracie Films Production in association with 20th Century Fox Television. James L. Brooks, Matt Groening and Al Jean are the executive producers. The Gracie Films Worldwide Brand Division develops and produces the licensed content for the series.

The longest-running primetime scripted show in television history, THE SIMPSONS exploded into a cultural phenomenon in 1990 and has remained one of the most groundbreaking and innovative entertainment franchises, recognizable throughout the world. Currently airing its historic 30th season, THE SIMPSONS has won 33 Emmy Awards, 34 Annie Awards, a 2016 People’s Choice Award and a 2016 Environmental Media Award. It was the first animated series to win a Peabody Award and was nominated for an Academy Award in 2012 for the theatrical short “The Longest Daycare.” “The Simpsons Movie” was a hit feature film, the mega-attraction “The Simpsons Ride” at Universal Studios has received historic expansion updates with the addition of “Springfield” and the show was honored with a Star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in 2000.

8:30-9 PM — BLESS THE HARTS

The new animated comedy joining the lineup this fall is BLESS THE HARTS. Created and executive-produced by Emmy Award winner Emily Spivey (“The Last Man on Earth,” “Parks and Recreation,” “Saturday Night Live”), BLESS THE HARTS follows the Harts, a Southern family that is always broke, and forever struggling to make ends meet. They one day hope to achieve the American dream, but they’re already rich – in friends, family and laughter. The series features the voices of Academy Award and Golden Globe nominee Kristen Wiig (“Bridesmaids,” “Saturday Night Live”), Emmy Award and Screen Actors Guild Award nominee Maya Rudolph (“The Good Place,” “Bridesmaids”), Emmy Award nominee Jillian Bell (“Workaholics,” “Fist Fight”), Ike Barinholtz (“Blockers”), Fortune Feimster (“Office Christmas Party,” “Chelsea Lately”), Drew Tarver (“The Other Two”) and Mary Steenburgen (“The Last Man on Earth,” “Curb Your Enthusiasm”). Executive producers on the series include Academy Award winners Phil Lord and Christopher Miller (“Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse,” “The LEGO Movie” franchise) and Kristen Wiig.

9-9:30 PM — Bob’s Burgers

FOX has renewed BOB’S BURGERS for a seventh and eighth season of the Emmy Award-winning animated series. BOB’S BURGERS, the 2014 Emmy Award winner for Outstanding Animated Program, was nominated for two 2015 Emmy Awards, including its fourth nomination for Outstanding Animated Program and its first for Outstanding Character Voice-Over Performance (John Roberts). BOB’S BURGERS is a 20^th Century Fox Television and Bento Box Entertainment production. The series was created by Loren Bouchard (“Home Movies”). Bouchard and Jim Dauterive (“King of the Hill”) serve as executive producers and writers.

9:30-10 PM — Family Guy

Mid-season 2019/2020

From Golden Globe winner Amy Poehler (“Parks and Recreation,” “Saturday Night Live”) and Emmy Award winners Mike and Julie Scully (THE SIMPSONS, “The Carmichael Show,” “Parks and Recreation”) comes DUNCANVILLE, an animated family comedy centered around a spectacularly average 15-year-old boy with a rich fantasy life, and the people in his world. Poehler voices the series’ two leading characters, DUNCAN and his mother, ANNIE. The series also features the voices of Emmy Award winner Ty Burrell (“Modern Family”), Emmy Award nominee Riki Lindhome (“Garfunkel and Oates: Trying to be Special,” “Another Period”), Betsy Sodaro (“Another Period,” “Disjointed”) and Yassir Lester (“Making History”), as well as guest voices Rashida Jones (“Parks and Recreation,” “Angie Tribeca”) and Wiz Khalifa (“American Dad!,” “BoJack Horseman”).

Also premiering in 2020 is new animated comedy THE GREAT NORTH, from BOB’S BURGERS creator Loren Bouchard. The series follows the Alaskan adventures of the Tobin family, as a single dad does his best to keep his weird bunch of kids close, especially as the artistic dreams of his only daughter lead her away from the family fishing boat and into the glamorous world of the local mall. Featured voices on the series include Nick Offerman (“Parks and Recreation”), Megan Mullally (“Will & Grace”), Jenny Slate (BOB’S BURGERS), and Will Forte (“The Last Man on Earth”).
