FILM ROMAN AND BOXEL STUDIOS TEAM UP IN FILM ROMAN BAJA, A FULL-SERVICE ANIMATION STUDIO RIGHT ACROSS THE BORDER

The Simpsons studios goes Baja.

Film Roman and Boxel Studios have teamed up to launch Film Roman Baja, a new full-service animated studio based in Tijuana, Mexico that will do animation and visual effects studio that specializes in both traditional and 3D animation.

There was a whole press release about why this is going down, but instead of re-posting that just know this, the movie is a cost-cutting measure that will help offshore a bunch of animation functions that are typically done here, but for a fraction of the cost. Because of the logistics the Film Roman Baja studio provides, animation producers can just as easily take a coaster train to the Baja locale and check-in if need be.

The release goes on to mention that this is Film Roman’s attempt at being a bit more competitive in an increasingly growing market of animation producers located the world over. This is also coupled with the fact that the studio that The Simpsons built can produce original content geared specifically at a growing Latin-infused market that is obviously in place south of the border but even service the growing number of Latin-American TV networks like Univision.
