“Family Guy” And “The Simpsons” Are Top Streaming Series For Hulu And Disney+ In 2020

For those wondering why series like The Simpsons and Family Guy won’t be getting canceled anytime soon, note that both shows are the top streaming series for both Hulu and Disney+. For Disney+, The Simpsons isn’t just the most streamed series in the United States, but the world as well in every English-speaking country on Planet Earth. This according to stats from Flixpatrol which you can see here.

It’s worth noting that these two franchises are the only series keeping cable networks like FXX and Freeform alive as well, but 2021 will be an interesting one for syndicated animated television as the exodus of 20th Television series like The Cleveland Show and Family Guy will exit networks like Adult Swim, TBS, and any other non-Disney affiliated networks by Q3 2021. Family Guy recently aired it’s 350th episode and is scheduled to return in February on FOX.

That said, it would behoove Disney to not get too crazy with forcing series like The Simpsons and Family Guy to make wholesale changes to voice rosters as the cost increases and lack of familiarity caused to longtime fans of both franchises could see declines in viewership among not only US-based streamers but international ones as well. As Disney learned with the aspect ratio fiasco at the launch of Disney+, The Simpsons still have legions of diehard fans all over the world, it would be best not to upset them.
