Exclusive: “American Dad” Season 16 Wrap Delayed Until 2020 For TBS

You American Dad may be asking yourselves, where the hell was the new episodes of the TBS show this past Monday. Welp, Labor Day saw all of the Turner Net toons take a week off which includes Squidbillies and Final Space both returning next week at their regularly scheduled times. Unfortunately, the final two episodes of American Dad’s 16th season on TBS will NOT be premiering either this upcoming Monday or for the rest of 2019.

We have learned exclusively from TBS that the final two episodes of American Dad Season 16 will, in fact, premiere in 2020 along with American Dad Season 17, however, whether or not they premiere together is unknown at this point but we will get an update for you guys just as soon as we get it. We can also confirm that those new episodes will premiere FIRST on TBS, and then on Adult Swim a week later, and not a switcheroo like what Final Space got this season. Below are the two final episodes of American Dad Season 16 in question with full synopses:

Downtown

Hayley drives Steve to a testing center in “no good” downtown but they end up stranded in a worse suburban neighborhood. Stan, Francine, and Roger mistakenly go downtown to rescue them.

Cheek to Cheek: A Stripper’s Story

Roger enlists Jeff as his protégé in order to open his dream chivalric strip club. Klaus moves into Steve’s room.

American Dad! centers on super patriotic CIA agent Stan Smith (voiced by Seth MacFarlane) and the misadventures of his unconventional family in Langley Falls, VA. Stan applies the same drastic measures used in his job at the CIA to his home life, where Stan’s blissfully unaware wife, Francine (Wendy Schaal), has an unfaltering loyalty that makes her blind to his unabashed arrogance. His left-wing activist daughter Hayley (Rachael MacFarlane), however, doesn’t let him off so easily – and knows just how to push her father’s buttons. Hayley’s brother is the geeky-yet-confident Steve (Scott Grimes), a kid who spends his time playing video games and obsessing about the opposite sex. The Smith cabinet is rounded out by two rather unconventional members: Roger (MacFarlane), a sassy, sarcastic and routinely inappropriate space alien, and Klaus (Dee Bradley Baker), an attention-starved goldfish with the brain of a German Olympic skier.

The irreverent, satirical, award-winning animated comedy is created by Seth MacFarlane, Mike Barker and Matt Weitzman, executive-produced by co-showrunner Brian Boyle along with creators MacFarlane and Weitzman.   The series premiered on the FOX broadcasting network in 2005 before moving to TBS in 2014. The top 10 cable comedy continues to be a key performer for the network.
