EX-Bob’s Burgers developer from FOX moves to Snapchat

In what could be a huge score for Snapchat, Deadline.com is reporting that Marcus Wiley has been tapped as a new programming chief for the social network which already counts content providers like Comedy Central, Yahoo, and others as part of its portfolio. The new initiative is said to use Marcus’ past successes in developing original programming like Bob’s Burgers for FOX, and take those talents to Snapchat where the social network is also looking to jump into the original content game.

Marcus Wiley’s signing is an interesting one, because the former SVP of FOX is best known for developing 30-minute comedy programming like the aforementioned Bob’s Burgers. So, could Snapchat be looking to get into programming with similar run times? If so, could Marcus work his magic and bring us another winner like Bob’s Burgers? Only time will tell, but safe to say, if Snapchat wanted to go that route…they have their man.

About 2 billion Snapchats a day are generated with the user base being strong in the 13-34 demographic. Bringing Marcus on, can help Snapchat monetize the most sought after advertising demo in the world and bring us great content to boot.
