Everything We Know About “Rick + Morty in the Eternal Nightmare Machine”

On April 30th @ Midnight, Adult Swim has scheduled a marathon for Rick and Morty season four, which just last week won a new ACE Eddie Awards/Best Edited Animation Non-Theatrical for “Rattlestar Ricklactica“. The multiple hour block of Rick and Morty episodes will kick off with some sort of special entitled Rick + Morty in the Eternal Nightmare Machine from famed pixel-animator Paul Robertson. Ten new episodes of Rick and Morty season five are set to commence on June 10th @11 pm ET/PT.

In terms of what it specifically is, we know we’re getting something that’s going to take up 30-minutes. Whether it’s a special pixel-animated episode of Rick and Morty, a promo for the recently announced season five, or something else entirely, we don’t know. We do know who Paul Robertson is, however. The pixel-animator from Australia is famous for quite a few productions including the opening couch gag for The Simpsons’ My Fare Lady“, one of my personal favorite episodes of Gravity Falls entitled “Fight Fighters“, and he even did a pixel-animated promo of Rick and Morty’s third season.

We also have a poster that you can see above that is indicative of Paul’s pathos when it comes to what he ultimately delivers. See any hints?

Synopsis:

Rick and Morty is a show about a sociopathic scientist who drags his unintelligent grandson on insanely dangerous adventures across the universe. Created and executive produced by Dan Harmon (Community, Channel 101) and Justin Roiland (House of Cosbys).
