English Dub Review: The Reincarnation Of The Strongest Exorcist In Another World “The Holy Princess”

Overview (Spoilers Below):
Seika meets a princess with the power to see the future.

Our Take:
It looks like this week’s episode will involve another confrontation with royalty. This time, however, this ruler has a secret power that could either work in Seika’s favor or threaten the young exorcist. More importantly, the episode explores a bit more about Seika’s previous life thanks to the arrival of this “Holy Princess”.
“The Holy Princess” has Seika revisiting his family, with his father requesting him to bring Amu along. But, of course, this also means we have to deal with his bullying brother Grey again, who’s last seen enlisting in the army in episode two. Unsurprisingly, Grey still demands a rematch with Seika because he can’t forget his humiliating defeat in their first duel together. However, Amu duels Grey instead, only for him to win by cheating.
We’re then introduced to Fiona Urd Alegreif, the kingdom’s Holy Princess. Fiona’s the daughter of the Emperor and his mistress, the Oracle Priestess. Additionally, she resembles Seika’s wife from his previous life as Kugano. However, this sounds pretty inappropriate when taken out of context, given the age difference between the two in Seika’s new life.
However, there’s more to this mysterious princess than just her looks. Fiona also has the ability to see glimpses of the future, which her oracle mother inherited. She’s also a cunning politician who schemed her way to royalty and is heading toward becoming an empress. Fiona also has something planned for Seika and Amu, who might be the Hero and the Demon King, according to Fiona’s mother’s prediction. Considering Fiona’s disappointing reaction when Grey and Amu saved her from the falling timber instead of Seika, I’m guessing this “incident” might be part of her mysterious plan.
“The Holy Princess” introduced us to a new character that may or may not cause problems for Seika and his friends, as if the band of powerful demons from the last episode wasn’t enough. More importantly, it also showcased Grey growing more tolerant toward Seika after joining the army. He’s still hard-headed sometimes, but any progress for him is better than having him drag the series any lower than it should be. Overall, it’s a watchable episode that could lead to the season’s solid finish if my prediction is correct.
