English Dub Review: The Dungeon of Black Company “The Silent Fortress”

Overview

After being stripped naked by his magic gun, Kinji and his party must find a way to acquire replacement gear. However, the adventurer’s fortress inside the dungeon is suspiciously empty.

Our Take

In one of the funniest subplots within this episode, Kinji goes on a get rich quick scheme that involves selling and making their own version of “Red Bull” called “Dead Cow” which makes you wonder if the name is inspired by the term “cash cow” in some way? Maybe it’s just me. The adventurers and Rimu advertising dead cow and that commercial were also hilarious too.

The second part is where we meet the cute manager shop from the opening finally making an appearance and she also got good help from Kinji’s circle. Still, even though the process succeeded at a rapid rate. it isn’t until some weird twist later on when the authorities find out about an addictive ingredient…

Overall, I feel like this show’s story is starting to get really disjointed. It feels like they are doing one thing and then it just moves to another story without a flow or an actual goal at this point since previous episodes have claimed otherwise. At least Kinji helped that nice lady out of her negativity from building up her own shop, with her own hands. Good for her. Really looking forward to seeing her success, well, after Kinji finishes his own problem with the dungeon at some point.
