Overview (Spoilers Below)
The battle between Earth and the Gatlantians continue with another round, but more importantly, we meet Teresa. Some sort of holy being that tells the Yamato what they were traveling for during Part One of this series. To make it simple, Earth must destroy the Gatlantians who have a simple mission in mind…seek and destroy. Problem is, Kodai doesn’t think we have the manpower to win this battle by ourselves. Teresa agrees so she solicits the help of Dessler.
Holy shit, WHAT A PREMIERE! The space battles were insane, and we FINALLY have a premise to Space Battleship Yamato 2202! Granted, we kinda knew it already given that the Gatlantians were attacking us like there was no tomorrow, but at least we can kind of consolidate the different threads and get down to business. That ending was hella good, and I’m eagerly anticipating the rest of the season. By the way, there were definitely additional production dollars spent on the interstellar graphics and as such, this might be one of the best looking series of the year thus far.
