English Dub Review: Plunderer “Ballot Holder”

Overview (Spoilers Below)

This week, we meet yet another character who has a not-real number. Which is good, because I’m not a numbers guy anyway. In any event, “Ballot Holder” refers to Licht Bach whose number count is in the negative and is being hunted down by Hina’s boss Jail who shows up to a once peaceful town to finally bring in Licht once-and-for-all. The battle, whilst brief, features a bunch of the sauce that you see in most shounen battles, and ends in Licht’s entrapment. Can he escape? We’ll have to find out next week.

Our Take

We’re still early in the 24-episode series of Plunderer and it features both comedic and action heavy elements not unlike say a Black Clover though the plot might be a tad more enticing. I wish the pace of the show would quicken up a bit, and Hina is an annoying character who is poorly drawn and she can eat a bag for all I care. The Ace I don’t mind, but the animation production on the series is just so mediocre that it’s hard to really get that invested in anyone just yet. Hopefully, next week gets us a bit more to chew on.
