English Dub Review: My Hero Academia “Encounter, Part 2”

Overview:

As Endeavor tells his team that he’s fighting Shigaraki, Midoriya realizes that Shigaraki is after One For All and uses himself as bait to try to lure Shigaraki away from the civilians.

Our Take:

I’ve made it no secret that I have been reading the My Hero Academia manga for a long time. So yes I know what is going to happen for the most part but with this series more than any other I think it benefits a lot from being animated. So many arcs and fights I had a hard time following on the page because there was so much going on it was hard to tell on the page. But I can tell you it is not hard to tell on the screen. Studio Bones has absolutely killed it with this anime and continue to do so. Shigaraki has become an absolute force of nature and the animation does a fantastic job of showing that.

To say Deku and Bakugo’s relationship was odd ad strained would be putting it mildly. But Bakugo realizes what is at stake and I think is finally letting his true colors show whether he wants to or not. He and Deku are the best friends/rivals I have seen, I wasn’t really a big fan of the Naruto/Sasuke dynamic because it wasn’t really believable to me. Hopefully, these two heroes can come out relatively unscathed in the next episode.
