English Dub Review: Miss Caretaker Sunohara-sou “Assault, Super Sweet, Hospitality”

Overview (Spoilers Below)

Aki’s sister is in town visiting and all of the other girls are making sure she fits right in. She doesn’t stay long and opts to bring Aki home, but Caretaker stops her from doing so. In a way to try to convince Matsui from taking her brother home, Caretaker takes a test to make sure she’s up to snuff in doing the deed. Sunoharu passes her tests with flying colors in the areas of cooking, brushing teeth, and administering baths.

More tests are dished out which sees Matsui stalk them a bit and then Akun eventually being kidnapped. Fortunately, this isn’t one of those “run-of-the-mill” series where a cliffhanger happens and the finale resolves everything. Instead, Matsui returns Aki and then reveals that she’ll be sticking around a lot more.

Our Take

Isn’t this the type of premise that’s supposed to happen around week four of the 12 episode run? In any event, at least this week’s episode is a bit more cohesive than prior weeks with the three-episode titles referring to the different stages in which we are introduced to Matsui. Your non-binary folks are going to have a field day with the openness in which Aki’s gender is referred to though if they’ve been watching this show all the way through perhaps not.
