English Dub Review: Lucifer and the Biscuit Hammer “The Hero and the Children”

Overview

Pyanepsion and Maimakterion, the tenth and eleventh golem, fight together to corner the Beast Knights before being driven off and Taiyou finds himself opening up to the older Knights…

Our Take

This time we get a very Taiyo-focused storyline. We’ve seen recently how he’s struggling at home and in life in general. Feeling lost, alone, without purpose, neglected, and forgotten. Taiyo has been dealing with many heavy emotions on his own. Even being with the other beast Knights is lonely for Taiyo since he’s a double agent for Animus. Which has mentally placed Taiyo in a rough spot and forces him to choose a side during the big battle in this episode.

Fighting both the tenth and eleventh golem. The multiplier being even stronger than before, like every time it keeps coming back stronger and tougher. The shapeshifter takes the form of Samidare’s favorite anime which throws her off and makes images of her and Nagumo’s loved ones. Mental manipulation from a shapeshifter go figure. Yayoi did a good job breaking all tenth golem pieces. Taiyo figuring out of course Animus would hide the secret hidden piece they can never find in Taiyo’s closet…

Overall, I liked how almost everything played out in this episode. It was kinda fun seeing a variety of characters fight. I feel like that was Animus testing Taiyo to see if he would destroy the last tenth if he found it, but part of me was glad that Yuki gave him some much-needed wisdom. Hopefully, now that he feels like he fits in a bit more, he’ll start to train and develop his power now. With the ability to manipulate time, he has the potential as a serious threat. And, it does sort of suck that he hadn’t made much of an effort to figure out his ability before, all things considered. Hopefully, we’ll see more personal character-like growth like this in future episodes.
