English Dub Review: Is It Wrong to Pick Up Girls In a Dungeon II “Conversion”

Overview (Spoilers)

This week’s episode is largely centered on Lili as she finds herself a prisoner of the Soma Familia. But to say she’s their prisoner is honestly quite a stretch. In truth, it’s Zanis who truly seeks to exploit her abilities for his personal gain. Meanwhile, Hestia and Apollo hash out the terms for the War Game — a feat that’ll require all the manpower the Hestia Familia can get.

Our Take

The narrative flows quite fluidly, which certainly compensates for the lack of action in this episode. While the plot is a bit tired, it is delivered in a way that is quite profound. Especially when you factor in all of the trauma Lili’s been through, it makes the end all the more satisfying and heartwarming. Animation-wise, this episode brings nothing new to the table which is understandable given the lack of action. For a filler episode, it isn’t all that disappointing. Unless you’re really hooked on fight scenes and the anime’s reliance on RPG tropes.
