English Dub Review: Garo: Vanishing Line “El Dorado”

No, not that one.

Overview (Spoilers Below)

A Horror named Bezel slinks his way through El Dorado looking for the King and eating anybody that doesn’t answer his questions straight. Bishop becomes aware of Bezel’s uninvited attendance. Eventually, Bezel heads to a party that is more or less being inhabited by even more Horrors who are looking to snack on one of the new chosen ones that came over on a bus. Bezel beats them to it and wipes the room and makes his way to King’s golden tower. It’s here he is beaten by the Queen, sworn to protect the King, and while Bezel is able to make a beeline for the exit, he’s quickly destroyed by Knight.

Our Take

I’m a bit annoyed by the fact that we couldn’t have had a few episodes of Bezel because he may have been my favorite character of the season thus far. Clearly inspired by Marvel’s Blade, Bezel was a badass, and his evil charm personality should appeal to fans of Koro-Sensei. The fight scenes this week were well-produced and were important because the producers spent a lot of time this week building up Bezel as a powerful foe only to get wiped out and truly understand Knight’s increasing power as he continues to train for the arrival of the Golden Knight. Moreover, the Queen is another crazy strong character in terms of abilities and could pose problems for Garo’s crew.

Some of the backgrounds were amazing this week and I loved the look of El Dorado at night. Garo: Vanishing Line shows signs of brilliance at times for sure.
