English Dub Review: Demon Slayer : Kimetsu no Yaiba “The House with the Wisteria Family Crest”

Overview (Spoilers Below)

Tanjiro defeats Inosuke with a head butt that hits so hard it removes the attacker’s boar mask and knocks him out with a concussion. When he wakes up, Inosuke helps Tanjiro bury the bodies of the dead and everyone, including Zenitsu, are lead by a crow to a house that provides shelter, food, and a place to heal their wounds. It’s here we learn that Nezuko is the demon that has been held in the box this entire time. It doesn’t take long, but Zenitsu figures he’s in love, but we’ll have to wait until next week to learn more about the mysterious woman.

Our Take

Nothing really happens in this week’s episode and Zenitsu is extra annoying this week.

The show seems to be turning into comedy as opposed to the more morose efforts from the first few episodes. I was more interested in how this series kicked off but am growing weary with the way it’s going with somewhat cliched party members on our journey.

I did enjoy the ‘crow’ character, even if I am perturbed about the fact that it can speak fluid human-languages. Now if you’ll excuse me, I’m going to order a shitload of tempura and eat it with my hands like a maniac.
